Opposing couches convert to king bed in the Entegra Ethos 20T

Class B vans with King beds are like unicorns: they're rare but they do exist!

They can come in different forms:

  • Rear dual twin beds that use extra cushions to fill in space and create a king bed

  • Opposing jackknife couches that meet in the middle to form a larger bed

  • A rear couch that folds down into a bed and meets up with other cushions

Bed sizes can vary in RVs, but often times are slightly more narrow and shorter than a residential King bed.

Looking for a King bed in a small RV? Simply searching "Class B vans with King beds" might not be the comprehensive list you're expecting.

Here's why: RV makers have branched out from the traditional "Class B" and "Class C" nomenclature, introducing some new classifications that are somewhat confusing. Class B+ vans often mean a van with a cab of a van chassis but a larger box frame on the back. Then there's some small Class C motorhomes that don't have a bed over the cab (which, in our mind, are really Class B motorhomes).

The best way to find King beds in a small RV form factor is to search all motorhomes with King beds under 25 ft.

Popular questions

Do any Class B motorhomes with a King bed sleep 3 or more?

Some Class B vans with King beds feature a "loft" with extra sleeping areas that pops up from the roof, or seats that can be converted to a sleeping space.

Are Class B motorhomes with King size beds practical for full-time RV living?

Yes! You can full-time RV in anything; however, if you're tall, a Class B RV with a King bed might just give the extra few inches to stretch out to make things feel a little more like home.

What size is a King bed in a Class B motorhome?

A traditional king bed for a home measures 76" x 80", so typically, these King beds in class B are called "RV Short King." They run anywhere from 68" x 75" to 72" x 76".
