Fifth wheel floor plans with bunk beds

Bunk rooms in a fifth wheel camper come in a few shapes, and the differences are worth understanding before you shop:

• Mid bunk (mid-ship), the most common setup, sitting between the main living area and the rear. The Montana 3857BR and Cedar Creek 375BHO are examples, and many add a second bath or half bath right beside the bunks.
• Rear bunk, where the bunk house takes over the back wall, as in the Phoenix 367BH, often with its own entry door.
• Front or loft bunks, less common because the raised front section usually holds the main bedroom over the hitch.

Because a bunkroom eats a full slide's worth of floor space, most of these plans run long and heavy, so confirm your truck handles the loaded weight in lbs, not the dry number on the brochure. If the kids are close to moving out, a plan with a flex-room bunk that converts to an office ages better. Families full-timing in one usually want washer/dryer prep and a kitchen island for the extra prep space, and if the length is too much for your tow vehicle, travel trailers with bunk beds cover the same need in a lighter package.
