A bunk over cab (also called a cab-over loft or overhead bunk) is a raised sleeping area built into the space above the driving area of a Class A motorhome. Because the cab sits lower than the rest of the coach, manufacturers use that overhead room to tuck in an extra bunk, adding a sleeping spot without shrinking the main living area. The Vista 34R and the Alante 29F are both good examples of adding that extra bed above the cabin.

The bunk is typically reached by a short ladder and most often used for kids or guests. While it doesn't offer a full second bedroom, for families who need one more place to sleep without stepping up to a longer bunkhouse floor plan, it can be a great option.
