What makes the 17E stand out among small expandables is how much livability Forest River packed into something under 20 feet, a full bath, a residential-style kitchen with undermount sink and soft-close drawers, and square bunk ends that actually give sleeping guests real space. The 200W solar panel with 30-amp controller and 12V refrigerator mean you're not entirely dependent on hookups, and the 12V smart TV, fireplace, and power awning round out a surprisingly comfortable camp setup. Two Maxxair vents, a 15,000 BTU A/C, and enclosed underbelly handle the climate side of things, while the 6-sided aluminum frame and composite wall construction speak to long-term durability. If you want something genuinely towable by a wider range of vehicles without giving up a real bathroom or kitchen, the 17E makes a strong case.
