Just when you thought you'd seen it all, Cedar Creek goes and builds a fifth wheel with a freakin' mud room. And there's way more to it than that.
The mud room in the 2024 Cedar Creek 380MUD
If you've ever spent a night in an RV – especially around dirt or mud – you can identify with the struggle of keeping the floors clean. Even with innovations like a built-in vacuum system, it's tough to keep all the dirt confined to where you take your shoes off.
It's a great place to contain dirt and shoes as it's a step below the main floor of the RV. As an added bonus, it can turn into a contained pet area by adding a fence on one side.
The height is also limited, but makes room for what you'll find above it: a loft, accessible from the front room just up the stairs.
But before you get there...
Front bedroom/office
On your way to the loft, you'll enter the front room that has a desk, a murphy bed, and a jackknife sofa.
The door to the right, inside the front room, leads to a half bath. This is handy for anyone staying in the front room, as the main bathroom is in the rear of the RV, through the bedroom.
Dual vanity bathroom
Other innovations
To make up for the lack of available front-to-back space, the 380MUD hides the pantry behind the TV – a great way to take advanage of the RV's width with opposing slide outs – where space is at less of a premium.
But...
The front room leaves something to be desired. With the murphy bed up, you'll find a desk near the window, but it's small. It would have been more interesting to have a desk integrated into the murphy bed frame when folded up so it could be larger.
When the jackknife sofa is folded out, it's a tight squeeze. The TV is mounted in an awkward spot. And there's limited space to climb into the loft.
All in all, the 380MUD is definitely worth a look if you find one at a local RV show or dealer. I love the direction Cedar Creek took here and look forward to see the refinements they'll continue to make.
