The double entry doors are a small detail that makes a big difference when you've got a full crew loading in and out, and the 281DDS is clearly built with a crowd in mind, sleeping up to 9 with a dedicated bunk room complete with its own curtain for privacy. The slide-out adds meaningful living space, and the underbed storage is smartly separated from the exterior pass-through compartment so you're not digging through camping gear to find bedding. Inside, the kitchen is well-equipped with a 7 cu. ft. gas/electric refrigerator, full-length ball-bearing drawer guides, and a silverware drawer. The kind of thoughtful touches that matter on longer trips. The 35,000 BTU furnace, R-7 fiberglass insulation, and optional enclosed underbelly make this one a reasonable candidate for shoulder-season use.
