What makes the 284BHOK work is the separation of spaces, a private front bedroom with a Queen bed away from the kids in the bunkhouse, with a U-shaped dinette in between that actually seats the whole group. The outdoor kitchen keeps the cook outside during nice weather without sacrificing counter space inside. Jayco includes some genuinely nice touches here: hardwood slide fascia, residential-style flooring, and a Climate Shield heated underbelly that extends the camping season well past summer. At under 10,000 lbs max weight, it stays in half-ton territory, which opens it up to a wider range of tow vehicles.
