The Berkshire 390FL puts the living space up front, giving passengers a panoramic view while the driver benefits from a Freightliner XC raised-rail chassis, Neway air suspension front and rear, and a Cummins ISB 6.7-liter turbo diesel pushing 340 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque through an Allison 2500MH six-speed automatic. Owners consistently rate the Berkshire 390FL's driving experience near the top, and it's easy to see why: full air brakes with ABS, an exhaust brake, and a 55-degree wheel cut make a 39-foot coach feel more manageable than its size suggests. The gel-coated full-body paint, vacuum bonded sidewalls and roof, and steel basement construction reflect real structural care, while optional upgrades like a residential refrigerator with inverter, electric fireplace, and stackable washer/dryer let you tailor the interior to a more residential feel. RVInsider reviewers give the Forest River Berkshire 390FL a 4.5 out of 5 for driving and towing, with livability close behind at 4.3.
