The Forest River Berkshire XL 40RB pairs a rear full bath layout with some genuinely impressive hardware under the hood: a Cummins ISB 6.7 turbo diesel making 800 lb/ft of torque backed by an Allison 3000MH 6-speed transmission on a Freightliner XCR raised rail chassis. Owners consistently praise how confidently the Berkshire XL 40RB handles long highway miles and hilly terrain, and the 10,000-lb tow rating means a toad is no problem. Inside, full body paint, frameless dual-pane dark tint windows, and a Carefree electric patio awning with LED lighting round out a finish level that reads more like a luxury coach than a mass-market motorhome. Optional upgrades like a stackable washer and dryer, Trav'ler satellite antenna, and a bump to the Cummins ISL9 at 380 HP give buyers a meaningful amount of room to configure the Berkshire XL 40RB to their style of travel.
