The Forest River Berkshire 39A makes a strong case with its bath-and-a-half layout, over-cab bunks, and outdoor entertainment center, all pushed by a Cummins ISB 6.7L turbo diesel making 360 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque through an Allison 3000MH six-speed. The Freightliner XCR raised-rail chassis brings real road manners, with Sachs custom-tuned shocks, V-Series front and rear suspension, and a 55-degree wheel cut that makes maneuvering a rig this size noticeably less stressful. Inside, the full-body paint, frameless dual-pane dark-tint windows, 84-inch ceiling height, and Carefree Latitude patio awning with wind sensor give the Berkshire 39A a premium feel that punches above its price point. Owners consistently praise the powertrain and floorplan, though a thorough pre-delivery inspection is well worth the time given that build quality can vary unit to unit.
